Doggie Style Pets

If you follow me on Instagram, you’re probably already aware that I got a puppy and I’m pretty obsessed.

I’m sure every dog mom says this, but he’s perfect. I mean look at that FACEEE- look at it!!!

Oswald Bernstein is a 9-week-old Bernese Mountain Dog who is growing up in a half Jewish half Catholic household. Lots of holidays! Am I already the crazy dog mom I said I would never be... yes. Am I dramtically and annoyingly obsessed with him...yes.

So, I obviously had to prepare for Oswald because I needed to be mommy of the year, which means I needed supplies....dum dum dummmmm bye money.

Doggie Style Pets is a local pet store in Philadelphia. I’ve passed a million of them but couldn’t/didn’t have a reason to go inside. I know myself and if I went in there without actually having an animal I would of 1. cried or 2. adopted one of the dogs there. (Impulse buying animals is a real thing. Oh, I’m going to get some milk…comes home with labradoodle.) So I was very excited to finally check this place out!

Oswald was planned (ok not super thought out, more like we decided 24 hours prior), so the morning of picking him up I entered Doggie Style for the first time, ready to shop.

This place is animal heaven. The walls are packed with products and the tables are covered in adorable cookie-like treats, outfits, Halloween costumes..honestly, there was too much to look at- in a positive way. They have everything you and your pet could ever want and I wanted a lot. Oswald needed everything in there.

Doggie Style Pets has 9 locations throughout Philadelphia and is open 7 days a week. They offer grooming services, an online shopping store, store to door service, monthly deals, a rewards program, events, and special order for items you can't find in the store. (aka that will be us because Oswald’s puppy food is only sold on Amazon.)

I had a general idea of what I needed but no idea on sizing or what items would be best. Let me start by saying- the staff there are super helpful. They helped me figure out sizing (even trying things on him when we had to go back the next day because he was way bigger than the photo) and showed us what items would be best for training and teething. Staff= AMAZING. The selection of products = AMAZING. From leash and collars to bowls and accessories, they had options for every item we needed.

I also loved the fact that they knew all of the dogs by name when the owners came in the store, even if the dog wasn’t present at the time. It felt like a family environment. Like even in the city of Philadelphia it gave off a mom and pop shop vibe. For example, the next day when we came back they knew us as Oswald’s parents. I loved that! Right away I felt like this was our pet store, Oswald’s go-to place for whatever he needed, and a staff that knew exactly what he needed.

We’ve been there three times now, and we’ve had Oswald for 6 days- oops. But as new parent’s and first-time dog owners, things pop up that we need and Doggie Style Pets wonderful staff and convenient locations have made it easy to get Oswald Bernstein ready to take on the city of Philadelphia.

Oh, and follow Oswald on Instagram @Oswald_Bernstein

If you have a dog or cat and you haven’t been to Doggie Style yet…. shame on you. Fetch your pet and walk yourself to the store located nearest to you. Your friendly companion will thank you for the walk at the very least.
